Brisbane.....going to miss Brad

Didn’t sleep too well last night....thinking about Brad leaving and the next part of my travel. We went to the camp kitchen to cook breakfast but found that the kitchen hasn’t been used for a long time. Debated whether we should cook in the camper or just go out for breakfast.... we decided to get breakfast on the road. So we spent the morning cleaning the camper van and packing because we drop off the van and Brad leaves for home.
We stopped for breakfast at Palm Beach then continued on to Brisbane. We returned the camper and got a Uber to Tanya’s house.
Tanya and I met on Facebook about 4 years ago in a group for wives whose husbands were diagnosed with brain tumour. We had planned to meet the last time I visited Australia but it didn’t happen. So this time, I made sure that we were going to meet. She gave us such a warm welcome. We had a delicious lunch then headed out to South Bank, then to Riverside, and cruised Brisbane River on the City Cat.
Had a wonderful dinner at the Spaghetti House in South Bank and headed back to Tanya’s. Brad got ready to head to the airport for his flight.
We drove 2,666 km; I drove down the wrong side of the road 4 times and Brad only twice (keep in mind Brad didn’t drive as much as I did), I nearly took out the hi-top of the campervan in one of the height clearance barriers in a parking lot. The last 12days have been great....we saw everything on our must see list and some extra amazing places. It was great to be able to say “Wow! Isn’t it beautiful? and have someone answer! Thanks Brad....your momma loves you!

Tanya and I had our morning coffe and tea, loaded up her car and headed out to Burleigh Heads. Burleigh between Surfers Paradise to the north and Coolangatta on the Gold Coast. I am lucky enough to spend a few days at Tanya’s beach condo.
VIew from the condo
After breakfast, we walked the beach....it was busy today. There was a surf event happening on the beach. Had a wonderful lunch and visit at Susan and Faye’s (Tanya’s delightful neighbours).
I tried to go for a swim but the waves were brutal. I kept getting knocked over. Tanya and I walked the beach again and had a quiet evening watching Grey’s Anatomy.
