We made a quickie breakfast and headed off with really no plans and no destination. We stopped at a few spot to go explore but found most of the trails were closed for maintenance.
Today we crossed the Continental Divide at km 1120. The Continental Divide is “a naturally occurring boundary or ridge separating a continent’s river system.
The view from the Alaskan Highway
We crossed back into British Columbia once just before arriving in Teslin. We stopped for lunch and throw a line in at the river but did not catch anything. During the drive we decided to drive to Whitehorse.
Our animal encounter was very slow today. We saw 1 deer, 2 squirrels, 1 porcupine, and 1 bungee cord. Today we drove 450 km (279 miles)

Headed out to explore Whitehorse. We found the Whitehorse Fish Ladder and Hatchery and a few other places did not open until June 1. Walked the around the Whitehorse Hydro Dam.
Then we visited Lumel Studios Glass Blowing. They offered quick classes but I just didn’t have the time to do one.
We visited The Old Log Church Museum and a few old buildings.
We decided to stay another night, so we headed up to the Hot Springs Campground. Checked in then headed off to Yukon Wildlife Reserve. Walked 5 km and saw so many amazing animals.
Bison
Muskox
Thin horned sheep
Deer
Gopher
Moose
Red fox
Then we drove back to go to the Eclipse Hot Springs. It was amazing! 3 pools, two sauna - warm and hot, two steam rooms - in scented and eucalyptus scented.
Then dinner
We had planned to head up to Dawson City and then cross over the US Border but we just found out today that the border doesn’t open till June 1. So we will not be driving the Top of the World highway. I am so disappointed!
