Packed up and headed to Lumel Studio in Whitehorse for a quick bit of glass blowing. It wasn’t as intense as the first glass blowing class I took in April. They did most everything for me, I just sat and poked and pulled on the glass. It was still nice to make something different.

We changed our BC Ferry reservation from June 30 to June 28. This means a quick short trip to Skagway and Juneau. It’s ok as I plan to come back to explore.

It was a great drive with spectacular views once again. We stopped in Carcross, the smallest dessert in the world.

Once again we had to cross the US border.

We couldn’t get on the ferry to Skagway so we stayed the night.
We grabbed lunch and explored Broadway street. It was crowded with all the cruise ship visitors.

Bought train tickets for the 8 am White Pass and Yukon Railroad Summit ride tomorrow. We walked out to the cruise ship pier to people watch and see the ships.

White Pass & Yukon Route Railway “The Scenic Railway of the World”. Built in 1898 during the Klondike Gold Rush, this narrow gauge railroad is an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark. We saw breathtaking panorama views of mountains, glaciers, trestles & tunnels. Went through two tunnels, the second one was considerably longer!

Ferry stoped in Haines so I had a chance to take Hana for a walk. Next leg of the journey to Juneau was about 5 hours. We were not allowed to go to the car deck.

Booked a site at the Mendenhall Campground. We could see the Mendenhall glacier from the ferry.
