On the way to the showers this morning this hawk was sitting in a tree just watching me walk.
We headed off to see the Mendenhall Glacier this morning. It was spectacular!
The Mendenhall Glacier is known for its dazzling blue colours, it’s about 13.6 miles long located in Mendenhall Valley, about 12 miles from downtown Juneau.
Off to explore Juneau!
Drove around Douglas Island, is separated from mainland Juneau by the Gastineau Channel, and contains the communities of Douglas and West Juneau.

Then we walked and visited OverStreet Park.

Goldbelt tram - makes a six-minute ascent up Mount Roberts from the lower terminal to a height of about 1,800 feet. Don’t like heights but it’s a definite needed visit. The view is phenomenal. There was someone carving a totem pole at the gift shop.
Then the main reason I came to Juneau…. my beautiful friend, Seanna…a new old friend. Felt like I’ve known her forever. Our husbands both passed away from GBM. We chatted on and off for about 9 years and is one of my best friend. Knowing that I was coming here we made plans to meet.
Seanna and her beautiful daughter Taryn.
After doing laundry, we stopped at the lake so I could take a dip. I will always carry the memory of my in the lake looking at Mendenhall glacier and Nugget Falls!
