Went for another dip in Mendenhall lake this morning.

Got a message from seanna last night asking us if we would like to go fishing. We made plans to meet at Auke Bay Harbour boat launch at 10:30 am. Matt (Seanna’s partner) put his boat in the water and off we went. Decided to fish for salmon. Had 3 bites but lost them all.

We saw lots of eagles

2 whales and lots of seals.

Then it was halibut time. Rods were in for about 10 minutes when we got a bite. Craig played the fish for 40 minutes and we finally got it in the boat. It was a beauty, about 60 pounds. Seanna filleted it and put them on ice.

As we were docking the boat, seanna jumped off the boat and landed in the water between the boat and the dock. Thank goodness she wasn’t hurt!

Although it was the first time seanna and I met, it felt like we’ve known each other for years. Both our husbands passed away from GBM (a type of brain cancer). We are making plans for more visits in the future. Thanks for a great time!

At the ferry terminal by 5:30 am for our ferry back to Skagway. They had very little offerings in the cafeteria. Thank goodness I packed a few snacks.
The trip took 5.5 hours to Haines.

Eldred Rock Lighthouse is visible from cruise ships and ferries that pass through Lynn Canal to and from Haines and Skagway.

I zipped out take the dog for a walk while the unloaded and loaded vehicles. From there, we had another 1 hour before we hit Skagway.

It’s been a wet and rainy day today. There were no mountains to be seen today as it was rainy and cloudy.

Finally arrived at the Canadian border in Fraser, BC. The Skagway–Fraser Border Crossing connects the communities of Skagway, Alaska and Carcross, Yukon on the Canada–United States border.

Made a quick stop at the Yukon Suspension Bridge. It’s a pedestrian cable suspension bridge that spans 180 feet across the Tutshi River Canyon.

Headed back to Whitehorse to pick up my glass ornaments and have settled for the night at Teslin.
