What a day!
I was all packed and checked in for my flight yesterday. I was woken up by a text at 2:30 am. The text informed me that my flight from Taipei to Denpasar was cancelled. I called Air Canada only to be told that part of the flight was booked through Eva Air. I called the 1800 number but the office didn’t open till 5:30 am. Did some investigating and found out all flights in and out of Taipei were cancelled due to an approaching typhoon scheduled to hit some time Thursday!

My travel agent met me at her office at 8:30 and for the next 4 hours she tried to reschedule our flights. We were finally able to get a full refund and rebooked with another airline flying through to Hong Kong!

Flew out with Seaair at 6:15 pm.

Met Brad at YVR, he flew in from Portland.

Grabbed some dinner and got checked in for our flight. He was able to sign us in to the Skylounge.

We left there and found the Cathay Pacific lounge and finally settled there until it was time to get on our flight.

They also had free 15 minute massages which we missed out on! But plan to get one on the way back!

Touchdown Bali!

Maneuvered through custom and immigration and headed to get SIM cards for our phones. Found our driver and headed out for our long drive to Ubud. The traffic was horrendous and it took us a better part of 2 hours to get to our hotel! Checked in and crawled into bed….exhausted! It took us both about 33 hours from door to hotel!

We took the shuttle back to the hotel for a swim and a massage. We arrived for our massage only to find out it was a “couples” massage!
Headed out to meet my friend AJ for dinner. I met AJ on my last Bali adventure. So nice to catch up after a year and a half!
