Nadi, Fiji.... the next adventure

April 5
At the airport I ran into Jon and Teresa from Redding, California again. I knew they were going to be on the same flight as me (to AucklanD. We talked about our adventures the last week. Jon and Teresa is the couple that I met a few weeks ago on the boat going to Great Keppel Island. Since that time, we have been running into each other (neighbours at Holiday Parks).

The flight back to Auckland was a good 4 hours. Watched a movie, relaxed and took pictures of the Great Barrier.

Patrick was at the airport, all ready to pick me up. Had dinner, visited with both Paatrick and Daphne. Then headed off to bed.

April 6
Patrick dropped me off at the airport for my 9:45 am flight. Checked in, grabbed a bite to eat. 3 hours in the air, landed in Fiji to sunny 32 degrees weather......hot and humid!

After I went through customs, I stopped to get a SIM card for wifi. I looked and asked around for my transfer to the hotel, everyone I asked told me to wait "right there", so I did. About an hour later, when I asked I was to,d to go up to the tour office (upstairs). I walked through the door of the office and the lady called my name. Apparently, I walked right past her!

Settled into the Aquarius hotel. This hotel is small and old. There are only 11 rooms in this hotel, and I am in room 11. I was given a room key attached to a big woodentiki looking thing. my bedroom door is sturdier than the one here, the lock is a manual lock (doesn't lock automatically). I have a huge deck that faces the beach, no air conditioning. It's a very simple room..... Nice actually.

Spent the day by the pool reading, took a walk down the beach, and sat and watched a beautiful Fijian sunset.

The tour starts tomorrow.
