A beautiful sunrise this morning.
This morning we are scheduled to do the Sawailau Caves. The 3 Swedish boys have decided to come with us at 9 am instead of going at 8 am. We checked out and boarded the boat only to find out the boat driver doesn't take credit cards. This means the boys can't come (and they've missed the early trip). I went into the office to see if they would take their payments in credit card and pay the boat driver. The boys were told earlier that they do take credit cards. We tried to talk to the owner and the activities director but the answer was No. Yasemine, AJ and I felt awful leaving them behind.
These limestone caves are situated inside a little island around the Blue Lagoon. They are famous for being one location for the movie The Blue Lagoon from 1980 with Brooke Shields. There are three different caves. The main cave has a huge chamber with a deep pool. We were greeted by a Fijian local who guided is down some steps into the main chamber. we got into the water but found there was very little places to hold on to.
In order to access the second cave, we have to dive under a rocky curtain and swim through an underwater tunnel. The guides are there to help push and pull you through. Once in Spitting Cave, if you spit from the small opening to the top, it would make a loud plop. AJ and Yasemine insisted that I go.... They said that I've cime all this way and I have to see it, also AJ said he wouldn't go if his new Mom didn't go. They promised to be beside me all the time. WHAT WAS I THINKING!!! Spitting Cave was dark, the guide had a flashlight that help guide the way. It was creepy inside, the ethos the darkness. I couldn't wait to get out!
Back at the resort, we had a quick lunch before we boarded the Cougar II for trip back to Nadi. The ferry trip was a long one, 5.5 hours back to Nadi.
We said goodbye to AJ and Yasemine as they left us to continue their tour. Arrived in Port Denarau, boarded the bus for Nadi. Late check in at Smugglers Cove. Dinner and off to bed.

All packed ready for my 2:00 pm flight back to Auckland. I spend another night with Patrick and Daphne. Then on to the final part of my adventure in the Cook Islands.....one week in Rarotonga and another week in Aitutaki. The time has just flown by!
My breakfast was included in the package, my morning view. One cannot never get tired of looking at this.
My ride picked me up at 10:45 am. Sitting here at the airport, eating a big Dairy Milk chocolate bar (missed having snacks while on this tour) waiting to board my plane.
As this third part of my journey comes to an end.... I realized..... that I only have two weeks left! YIKES!!!! That went by way too fast.
What an adventure you've been on my friend - maybe you should write a book when you get home. Looking forward to seeing you when you do get back to this island.
